Here's the song I wrote for Fishing Camp. I came up with the lyrics after reading the
stories of Fishing Camps past that 70s wrote about on the old website. Those same stories are on the
new site here, and after reading those and seeing the photos you'll get the gist of my inspiration. Enjoy!
Good Company
Listen close and you will hear the story of fishing camp
upon the river of clarion is where we begin
'though we can't remember much that night somehow we all stayed alive, as a drunken bee declares FC will survive
As the rain poured down in the year 02, they'd seen their party grow
In the leaning shack kept warm with stolen wood
We had ray's hot spot and made goulash that noone dared to eat, we knew FC02 would be really tough to beat
CHORUS
Rolling down some old hiway
start thinking back, to days long gone
and how long it's been
and when we meet again my friends well
have a drink on me, 'coz then we'll be
'coz then we'll be, back in good company
FC03, oh say can you see it really got out of hand
as the owners said don't ever come back again
but the very next year the camp had found a home, and a mascot dog named cash
we waved the FC flag as the magic jam band jammed on...
CHORUS
So before these memories fade
and we all grow old and grey
and we can't even remember the last time we got laid
Let's toast one for our mothers
Let's toast one for each other
Just raise your voice and raise your glass
and just make sure these memories last
So when we're headed up, some new hiway
to the light in the sky
'cause all good men, some day must die
and when we meet up there my friends
have a drink on me
'cause then we'll be, back in good company
CHORUS
